Hit a plateau with your running pace? Looking to improve your results on your upcoming 5K? While it’s long been understood that protein is an essential element of building strength, it turns out that nutrition might be the missing element to enhancing speed, too, according to a new study published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise where men were tested at various levels of protein intake for racing speed. Turns out, the group that ate the highest level of protein (1.83 g/kg) were 1.5% faster than those who ate a lower amount of protein for just four days. Time to pass the Blu-Dot!
